GTK 4 is expected soon, but currently there are already both GTK 2
and GTK 3 in oe-core.

GTK 2 doesn't have any important users left in oe-core.

The biggest obstacle for moving GTK 2 from oe-core to meta-oe would
be packagegroup-core-lsb-desktop depending on it.

AFAIK the LSB approach never got any real traction in terms of users,
and the responsible working group stopped developing LSB 5 years ago.

README.LSB already states that LSB support in oe-core is incomplete,
and I wonder whether anyone is doing compliance testing for the rest.

If anyone is actually interested in LSB in OE, the natural approach
would in any case be to create a meta-lsb layer that could also
implement the items in README.LSB like adding no longer provided
recipes or depending on meta-qt4.

Are there any objections against removing LSB support from oe-core?
