Corporates should only do what concerns their business and AFAIK Oracle's business was not to create real world apps (I mean, with the exception of IDEs or other apps for the management of Oracle apps). A technology owner, usually, when tries to create a real world app only creates a demonstrator of a real world app, which doesn't have any success.
