3.1.4 The SunStudio and NetBeans tools:
1. Initial Install:
a) Installation behavior and scripts are provided by
the Developer tools team.
b) During initial install Sun Studio 12 will be
installed.
c) During intial install Sun Studio 12 will install
NetBeans 5.5.1 as it currently ships this
version.
d) NetBeans 5.5 will also be installed since
NetBeans users are supposed to use this version,
and not 5.5.1.

Regarding item 'd': huh? Is NetBeans 5.5.1 being un-installed to clear the
way
for NetBeans 5.5 or do both end up on the system? Does Studio 12 work OK with
5.5 or does it require 5.5.1 for some operations. It seems kind of silly that
on one hand we have a product that installs 5.5.1 and then we try to route
around it with this project. We should get our NetBeans and SunStudio story
straight.
