What is your IP address and netmask? There is a serial interface on the board, but I would try another computer first. Seems like something is misbehaving on that one. See: http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt54g#serial.port for the serial info. Note that you MUST use an adapter to drop the voltage from the 12v that your computer serial port provides to the 3.3V that the onboard serial port expects or you WILL let out the magic smoke.
