We had decided to not go through the prerequisites separately precisely
because of that. RPM is already reporting the errors. It is true that
the errors could be reported in a more friendly way, but we had weighed
the cost of doing the dependency checking, in both implementation time
and execution time, and decided that it wasn't worth it at the time.
Now, this was all done before autoupdate was around, so if that work can
be leveraged, we could take advantage of it.
