Hi Dave: I tend to agree with your points about modifying the config file, that is traditionally the way I do it, but I was just wondering if there was a specific reason why it was done this way (for ntpconfig).
BTW, even if ntp is running, if you modify the conf file and restart the daemon, it should be okay, right?
