I will be ranting abit here, so the others pls delete this if it
bothers you. Please focus on my line of questioning and prove to me that FOSS can fulfil those as i said before it is proven that FOSS is not commercially viable. R&D, Innovation and Creativity is never commercially viable. Allow me to begin one by one: i start with this syarat: 7. nyatakan dgn jelas target market dan benefit kepada mereka. The answer is: THERE IS TARGET MARKET but NO and NEVER will there be BENEFIT. Therefor such questions can never be true from your side. What you got is for those commercially viable projects, not so FOSS. Why? Let me ask you. How can you verify a linux to fight against a market player that controls 98% of the market here? Do you know the Netscape story? It was controlling 99% of the market. Then MS makes its moves. Do you know what moves i mean? Do you know why the US Anti-Trust Law came into play against MS? ADempiere is viable because it existed in a blue ocean. Alamak.. tambah lagi satu istilah bombastic - Laut Biru.. banyak sangat istilah.. faham ke? Pls tell me what is meant by blue ocean. Research and all those heavy words exist in the corridors of research institutions u name it from the west, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, but sorry not here. No.t UM, Not UTM Not AeU even. The main keywords here are misplaced. When they say Innovasi and Research or Creativity they do NOT mean those. What they meant are "Dapat Kerja" "Jangan Menganggur" "Boleh Untung Cepat" "Tiada Risiko" "Jangan Gagal" All these words do not exist in Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Edison, Marie Curie and Alfred Nobel's books. They took risks, blow up the labs, not one time, but many many times. People scorn and laugh at them. Again i ask you. What projects you get funding for? It is all for direct benefit to govt directly. The other syarats you meantion clearly spelt that. The syarat should be: 1. Do you have an idea? 2. Are you passionate about it? 3. Can you tell me more? Many such questions were asked and that is how Google got USD1 m without question from one MS shareholder while he was tying his shoe lace in his garage, "I have no time for you, but can you take a cheque?" They take risks, my brader. Not us. Anything that risks their positions or coffers they wont do. Singapore, which is not a good example also throw billions to bring in MIT lecturers. That is a bad way to get top 30 ranking. Really kiasu. We do not have to. We have stars here. We have ppl who hit top 20. Bring in the Olympiad. But olympians do not drive mercedeses. They work in the trenches. Read the story of Muhammad Ali. People only exploit him when proven. We are not supposed to be like that. We are supposed to learn from others histories. We know our smart kids. But we do not trust them and ask them all those non-relevant questions. We rather wait till they hit no.1 And then we wait somemore until they kill the other no.1s. If they fail we smile and said, "we told you so". IF they succeed, we say, "It is OURS." Those consultants that sit on the approval board are from where? From research baraulurettes? Or from industry? And local non-relevant replicas at that. I know some of them. They are my former classmates. Now in IBM, Oracle, SAP. They told me all those bombastic terms. About market viability, risk gearing, TCO, monetization. I appreciate and respect their concern. But they copycaters, not thinkers. They say think out of the box, but they do not practice those heavy phrases. They are kiasu. They jaga air muka dulu. No one of them will take me in debate because now i have one very simple bullet. I have a project sitting on SF as No.1 They do not. They are just journalists, reading newspapers and telling me about yesterdays' news. I am taling about future-tense. Things unproven. I see in NG and DC on Astro stories of how the west is won. Everyday they show technological advances that has no bloody commercial applications in these century. The Nano-battery, the cold-fusion, Large Hadron Collider, theses in Parallel universes. I can go on and on, but i just do not want to earn your irk. Believe me when i say, that the researching mind is not about asking "macamna nak cari makan?". The researching mind is all about "what is there to know?" I have no diploma nor degree. My whole life is about Ma Lam Yam - knowing (from Allah al Ghaib) what we know not. That is not viable for people of awam. When i become muslim it was not viable for my race nor family nor the malays. They only give me 80 ringgit duit zakat which i find amusing. I was eager for knowledge. So tell me. Tell me something i do not know. And do not go on this unwinable debate, because you wont be able to throw any money into the ADempiere Institute which i am being talking about all this while. Because it is not viable. You need 100 grads to learn it. You need 5 yrs industry experience. You need 20 pilot SME projects. You need to exchange with Germany. You need benchmarking servers. You need to ask the world to whack it. You need expos to expose it. You need to talk to CIOs, CFOs, CEOs till the cows lie flat. I have done it for decades. It is not just these 5 years i did this. red1 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Join Open Source Developers Club Malaysia http://www.osdc.my/ Facebook Fan page
