Ok, I see.  Regardless, I get Macromedia core class errors either way.  I unchecked it in my individual project settings and now I get the same kind of “type” error, but for a different Macromedia core class:

 

../mx/core/ScrollView.as: 174…type error, Object should be a String

did you uncheck that in your new project or the global Properties? 

I think that's a little confusing to some people in FLASC - the Properties>Default Tags are just meant to be used when you create a new project as your "Default" settings.  But then after the project is created, it has it's own set of tags.  So, be sure to edit the tags in your project (hold SHIFT+LMouse to edit a project)
