After building a new freetype library (see other thread about "freetype plugin not building in Windows VS8"), this problem has gone away entirely. I suspect the problem was caused by the version number not changing until 2.3. Current SVN CMake was not building a freetype plugin, but I already had one in my 2.2 plugins directory. Because the version number was still 2.2, OSG was using the outdated freetype plugin. Some mismatch between it and osgText was causing the problem, I suspect. -Paul
