Oh sorry then,

I'm just asking: what is the effect of calling
    lightSource->getOrCreateStateSet()->setAttribute(light, 
osg::StateAttribute::ON);
I guess that's just *stupid* to add a Light structure as a StateSet for the 
LightSource that already has this Light structure, but I'm just trying to 
understand the strange lighting that results.
