This is pushing it for us. I believe svn/trunk is a quite a good state, but there a few loose ends that need to be completed. There is possibility that we could tag the 2.8 branch for the end of next week to mark the feature freeze phase of the release at least then you'd have a feature stable point on the OSG to target, and once 2.8 itself rolls out then it should be just a case of updating binaries.
