HI Martin,

This example is about as simple as it can get, only a few thousand
triangles, no textures, nothing that could drop things down onto off
hardware rendering, at least in normal circumstances.

The driver update would seem like the most likely candidate, it looks
like things have dropped down to software rendering.  Try other
examples.
