I think the issue was: if you search on the map for a particular type of POI, you get a list of matching POIs (search results) in order of distance. Choose one, then it is pinpointed on the map. If you move on, the pinpoint disappers.
On top of the search result list, you can activate the map layer for that type of POI. When you leave the search, the layer remains switched on. It's a layer, not a search result. The OP thought it was a search result, quod non. You can switch it off in the map layer config. Toggling layers can be configured as an item under the quick action button. In this case, I think the OP should probably not use the "show all" button, just pick a result from the search result list. If I had to make this better, I would add a function to display multiple search results, either by selecting them on the list or select all within a given distance.
