Because it wasn't then. Perception is everything in politics and
Obama, of all people, should know that.

Hillary hadn't done the pitbull/hockey mom lipstick comment the week
before or it would have been perceived as sexist then too.

The feminists are already pissed at Obama for his perceived diss of
Hillary, so everything he says that can even remotely interpreted as
sexist will be taken that way whether it is or not, and every word he
utters about Palin will be looked over for the slightest insult.

Welcome to PC hell. I hope the left is happy with the bed they
made cause Obama gets to sleep in it.

Obama will no longer get the benefit of the doubt, *ever*, from them.
Oprah has the same problem brewing.

I watched Obama's comment completely in context. I do not think it
was meant as a slam at all, it is a common figure of speech.[1] but he
was an idiot for using it because of exactly what happened.

He either got "too cute" or just spoke before he engaged his brain.
Either way, his message was lost. Whatever the hell he was talking
about will not get a bit of coverage, just the *pig* part.

The *real* cost will be three days off message and one more thing that
will keep him on defense.

If he plays defense all the way to November, he will loose.

=c=

[1] Of course the origin of the comment *is* a reference to
unattractive women that put on some lipstick hoping to change their
chances, so it *is* sexist in it's origin anyway.
