Mike, that's a good question. He did have many good things to say
about rehab in general. This is a man who two months ago was unable to
pick up a 2# weight and who today was able to walk outside with his
walker and sit in the sun. He is an avid outdoorsmans, and being
outside is extremely important to him. One of his comments was simply,
"The sun feels good". Keep in mind that we live in FL and that it was
almost 80 degrees today.

I don't know what prompted to him to tell about some of the "wasted
time" in rehab. If I had to guess, he found the physical exercise and
hard work associate with rehab to be of the greatest value.

mb> I evaluated a new patient today, actually the husband of a former
mb> patient. He was just d/c from rehab. During the eval, he talked a
mb> little about his rehab. He stated that some of what he did was a
mb> "waste of time". He then provided two examples of what he considered
mb> wasting his time:

mb> 1. The shoulder arc

mb> 2. Picking up cones

mb> Granted, the above could have been either with a PT or OT, but I
mb> suspect it was the rehab's OT doing the above 'exercises'.
