Hey..I am in NC but I meant that I hope certification is not required to use
the modalities to be certified...I guess some states like yours do require
it...nc doesn't as of yet...I don't mind going to courses yearly to keep
updated but in my situation I don't work with a PT or anyone regularly that
could observe and verify competence.  I have been an OT for 20 years and have
used modalities and I certainly wouldn't use those I have not used in the
past.  The certification that I know people have attended require that a PT or
certified OT observe and document competence prior to certification....
I don't think that certification and modality use would be required to be an
OT....
just my thoughts.....thanks

Thanks for responding, I hope others follow your lead.

I'm  curious  about  your statement "[I] hope that one day this is not
considered a requirement to practice".

To  the  best  of  my  knowledge,  no  state  practice  act  requires
certification  in  electrical  modalities. I live in Florida and while
using  electrical modalities does require "certification", getting the
certification is not required.

Is your state different?

Thanks,

Ron
