That is good news, so will be able to run in parasitic mode on DS18S20 thru
the DS2409 Hub, if I understand you correctly. I am still going to run in
powered for now, but good news for the future.
Not sure that would have corrected my problem or not with the Vdd floating.

I am still not understanding a couple things. Best way to start the Owfs and
what about stopping it?
I did a 'killall owserver' is that the best way.

And is there a preference for setup like mine with the computer/interface
hub connected and doing the reading to starting it? ie.
I started this way on the amd64 system, but can't seem to on the x86 box. I
have to start owfs there.

AMD64 (don't remember starting owfs it was like the owserver started it.)
1) This way isn't working on the x86 box. I am sure copied what did on amd64
correct.
owserver -d /dev/ttyS0 -p 3000
ROOT # owdir localhost:3000 ~/1wire
ROOT # owread localhost:3000
1F.66BD04000000/main/10.381755010800/temperature
      17.875

2) Same here doesn't work on the x86 box.
# owserver -d /dev/ttyS0 -p 3000
# owdir localhost:3000 (this doesn't print out below either on x86)
bus.0
settings
system
statistics
/1F.66BD04000000
/1F.67BD04000000
 # owread localhost:3000 1F.66BD04000000/main/10.381755010800/temperature
      17.875
owread -F localhost:3000 1F.66BD04000000/main/10.381755010800/temperature
      64.175

On the X86 box I have to start it like this or it won't populate the folder:
(ie. i
1)# owserver -d /dev/ttyS1 -p 3000
# owdir localhost:3000 ~/1wire
# owfs -d /dev/ttyS1 ~/1wire
# owread -F -s localhost:3000
1F.66BD04000000/main/10.381755010800/temperature

If I start with owdir and owfs commands 'switched' around get this error:
fuse: mountpoint is not empty
fuse: if you are sure this is safe, use the 'nonempty' mount option

Now I can't even start it get this: (I'm going to reboot.)
Killed owserver and owfs to unpopulate folder. And restarted fuse.
# ls ~/1wie
ls: cannot access /root/1wie: No such file or directory
# ls ~/1wire
ls: cannot access /root/1wire: Transport endpoint is not connected
# owfs -d /dev/ttyS1 ~/1wire
fuse: bad mount point `/root/1wire': Transport endpoint is not connected

Tried it again and I CAN SEE the uncached temp change each time I cat it.
But if use owread I get this:
# owread -F -s localhost:3000
1F.66BD04000000/main/uncached/10.381755010800/temperature
Data error on 1F.66BD04000000/main/uncached/10.381755010800/temperature

What is the best way to start Owfs? Getting confused. Going to have to
stop for awhile getting aggravated. Rebooted and reading again.

Thanks
Running owfs-2.7p0 right now.
