Some apps shouldn't have GSIs - our calculator for example - and that's precisely why we have an exception mechanism. As to whether your app should somehow tweak the GSI to not indicate that the user just did a up-shift stroke, I am not sure. But I had to correct the above assertion; we (Palm) make the certification rules and do realize that there are valid times for exceptions, and times to hold fast on the UI rules for the good of the user. -David Fedor Palm Developer Support
