I'm in favor of adding a "new-to-palm" mailing list.

Let's continue to keep "palm-dev-forum" open... for now. I think the lists
can self-regulate because new comers usually know who they are and often
prefix their queries with "newbie question / simple question."

Unfortunately, that could happen. But note that Pete Lancashire's original
post was largely ignored by this mailing list until he started this thread. I
wonder how many new comers sign up onto this list, are overwhelmed or
ignored, and then shortly unsubscribe.
All I can say is that I've learned a great deal here and believe in giving
back. I don't consider myself an expert, but I would drop in on the
"new-to-palm" forum and try to answer some questions.
