   Well, I am no lawyer (just a programmer trying to deal with this!)
but the debug ROM contract seems to me to be pretty complex in that
it's extremely limiting.  I am closing on a house soon and, let me tell
you, builders have NOTHING on 3com.
   Anyway, some of the limitations include disclosing the site that the
product will be used, agreeing to keep the product under lock and key
at that one site (what about my laptop!?), allowing for 3com to inspect
the site at 24 hour notice, and documenting people given access to the
product.
   For someone just trying to get ahold of a debug rom so that
he can help a user who claims a product will not run on the Palm VII,
this seems extreme.  The documented two week turnaround is even worse.
I guess as any company becomes more successful they start hiring more
people and, inevitably, those people are worthless so they make work
for themselves.  <sigh>  That sounds like a zillion startups around
here.  Oh, well...
