"To better support you, we're going to let you support each other"
is pretty well par for the course in the new new economy I guess.
I'm much more interested in the deal with Developer[']s['] Nation.
The message from Palm says:
Palm is also very pleased to announce that beginning next month,
developers will be able to purchase both access to a comprehensive
searchable database of Palm technical information, as well as
incident based technical support
On the DN site it says:
Basic Membership - This annual membership offers access to the only
searchable technical support database for the Palm OS. Just $100 per
year allows 24/7 access to thousands of FAQs with hundreds more
added each month.
and:
Today we offer 24/7 access to a comprehensive searchable knowledge
base. The information was provided to us by Palm so the answers
are reliable.
Note that the DN site says it's the *only* searchable technical
support database for the Palm OS. Now either this is incorrect and
very misleading, or the Palm Knowledge Base won't be available/updated
elsewhere in future. I'm curious to know which it is.
