And the only connections you get on a computer today is a printer port,
(maybe) a serial port, one Ethernet port and a bunch of USB ports.

The other issue is the multitude of different connectors on the other end of
the USB cable I have a different connector to my video camera, regular
digital camera, GPS, memory card reader, phone, printer - It would be nice
to only keep track of maybe a couple of different cables.
