They are very popular here in Taiwan... I have used two of them until they 
wouldn't work anymore.  Until my last Epson printer wore out before the tank 
system did... it was a crappy way to run out too.  I got a message on the LCD 
that said "This printer has reached the end of its service life." and then 
refused to print again until I got it serviced.
