Mandy, you've never had a Canon printer that has stopped printing,
and when you go look up the error it says "Ink waste tank full" and
they expect you to send it back to them and pay when all you have to
do is hit a key combination to clear the "non-existant" ink waste
tank ??...I have and THAT sucks..
Except for an ancient ALPS, I ran Canon printers and scanners
exclusively. Mine have been literally run to death. They have stopped
printing because a gear was worn out or a shaft started making the head
stutter and even have burned out print heads, but I never encountered
anything like you describe and I have Canons from the current model
(actually a pre production version) to the old "flat pack" model
Overall I have found Canon products to be ridiculously tough and long
lasting, unlike their competitors. Heck, even their cameras are great.
If I ever encountered an issue like yours, my Canon rep would get an
earful, not to mention the printer returned and its place filled by a
different machine.
On which model did you encounter this issue?
