Thanks Anna and Marc for your help. Here's what I did to resolve the Remote Access inconsistencies!
Disabled OT/PPP and Open Tpt Serial Arbitrator as it was merely a duplicate to the newer, "Serial Port Arbitrator" - that removed them both to Extensions (Disabled) and Control Panels (Disabled) respectively - Temporary measure. I stashed the "Remote Access Client Folder" and contents in my Storage Folder and renamed it just to be safe. I then used "Custom REMOVE" to remove all "Apple Remote Access" elements. Restart Custom INSTALLED all "Apple Remote Access" Restart. When I got into my Control Panels to see what had arrived, I bout fell off my chair! The new "Remote Access" now in my Control Panels contained all the correct settings from my OT/PPP still sitting in CP (disabled)!!! Figure that one out! LOVE THOSE INSTALLERS! Checked the Apple menu and there was "Remote Access Status"; I put an asterisk in front of it to take it to the top; It opens in a narrow window across the top left with connect button and first attempt got me online. I've since renamed and trashed OT/PPP and the old Remote Access that the INSTALLER had cautiously named cLIENT and created a folder for in my finder when it had encountered the mighty OT/PPP during initial 8.6 installation over 7.6.1. I was just about to ask you where the Remote Access Plugin might be when DUH, It dawned on me to stretch the strip outward. It's there.
