It is indeed fixed frequency.
And yes indeed you need that adapter. It's a simple adapter without
switches. To recognise: There is that big special "S" on one side.
The adapter must still be somewhere around here after my Sm-mon. died.
Will see if I can find.
However you can use the following combination:
Supermacmon. -> cable -> Mac to VGA-ad. (Apple partno.: 590-1123-A) ->
universal dipswitch-adapter VGA to Mac.
Sounds a little bit strange, but since I don't know of a Mac to Mac
ds-adapt., we tried this and it works.
I had this monitor on several Macs, 68K, Nubus- and PCI-PPC.
In one of my Q840AV's I had a Supermac videocard too, but that's not a must,
just as you can use another mon. with this card.

And Tim, answering your next mail: Yes that monitor worked fine with the
VooDoo3 2000 in the 9600/350.
