Tim; I am using the same monitor you are having problems with in
the following way:

A rasterOps #9000-0001 4 tail BNC Apple monitor connector, connected
to a Supermac
#0007989-001A - 1024X768 resolution. female to male (Apple config)
monitor adapter.

On a 7600 with 4 MB of V-ram. Running Millions of Colors at 1024 x
768 @74.9 hz.

The connector BNC SHOULD be a 5 tail, but the 4 tail does work. The
three tail would not work on the 7600 but it worked nicely on a
Quadra 610 at 8 bit 256 colors and the 1MB on board v ram. I spent
a lot of time on the net trying to find answers to this problem and
was told to simply go to the 5 tail BNC with the Supermac single
resolution adapter.

The Mac/ Powermac BNC (RGB) Video cables and the multisync adapter
can be found at: www.mcpb.com
Hope this helps and encourages. It is a GREAT monitor. Heavy tho!!
