Hi

Not too long ago I accidentally broke my 8500/120 I had owned for about 4
years (which I replaced with my 8500/150). If I hadn't seen what I did I
would have never found out and I would have gone crazy looking for a way to
make the mac work. I don't know if my mac was missing something but since
the board was showing (in the 8500/150 there is 2 plastics bars that keep it
safe from the cover when you open it) well I had opened it at least 100
times, all the harddrives I used on other macs that I was fixing were
formatted there, so it was rutine for me. I remember I took the case out
and felt a tiny crack, then heard the tiny little thing fall (it was like a
silver cilinder). Practically my jaw dropped. I wanted to see how the mac
reacted upon powering up but the screen just remained gray. Well, I was
pretending to myself I was ok, but upon waking up the next day and realizing
she was gone I started crying (I had the 4400/120 that helped me cope with
the loss).

I mean the dissapointment was so bad after so many years fixing, repairing
and selling macs I broke my OWN mac. I don't know if any of you have felt
like an attachment to some things and feel sad when you have to part with
them or they bite the dust. I am ok and think it's ok after all, cause now
I got the faster version 150Mhz. But I do NOT want to have to deal with
such a thing again, really.
