USB is great for pointing devices like mice and keyboards . . . unless your machine doesn't have built-in USB. In my own experience, when I've had to startup on an original system CD, I lose my USB devices and have to fall back on my ADB devices. It could be my no-name USB card or it could be because my old machine didn't come with built-in USB. Either way is frustrating. Against all the others here who are advising to go with getting a USB card and mouse, I would say get another ADB mouse. You will actually save yourself money and aggravation in the long run. You can get new ADB mice reasonably priced from any number of sources and not have to rely on questionable Ebay auctions. I found a two-button (the ultimate sin in the Mac world ;->) Kensington ADB mouse at Operator's Headgap (http://resale.headgap.com) for around $25. They have a non-Apple ADB mouse for about $15 and an ADB mouse II for about $22. Their prices often include shipping and they are super nice.
