I have been running a VooDoo5 5500 in this 9600/G4/800 up until two weeks ago.
I finally broke down and decided to try a Radeon 7000.

The VooDoo5 is 64 meg while the Radeon is only 32, but I have heard a lot of
good things about the Radeon in the gaming world.  I play QIIIA a little bit...

The Radeon 7000 ROCKS.  My fps has more than quadrupled and it is so fast in the
game that I lose myself while I'm moving sometimes!  lol  All of their software
works on OS 9.1 and even 2D is much faster.  I even notice it in my scrolling!

Check you installer log.  This is what mine says:
