I've heard tell of this as well as smacking the drive.
Both remedies are for stichtion or strichtion or
whatever it is. The fix is usally for older drives
that have been unused for a while. We don't know if
that's the problem with the Maxtor. I have slapped a
drive and got it to work long enough to get stuff off.
I don't have room in my freezer for a hard drive.
