Well it depends on whether you feel lucky, well do you MAC? When you look at a G3 upgrade you have to look at three things for performance. Obviously the G3 clock rate is important but the size and SPEED of the cache is also important. I installed a G3/400/512K/3:1 (133MHz cache) card in an 8500 and it definitely "feels" slower than the G3/350/1024/2:1 (175MHz cache) in my 7500. The cache size is important but so is the cache speed and it's not always as well advertised as the other info. 7500s and such top out at a bus speed of 50MHz while most of the native G3 machines have a bus speed of 100MHz or faster. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
