I missed the discussion on this so sorry if I am picking up a fag end: Are you saying you literally get 33k per second when you are downloading pages to a browser on a 56k modem through your ISP? I am in Sydney, Australia and 5k is tops and far more usual to be down to 3 (and often, infuriatingly, less!). I am considering ADSL (a broadband here).
