OS X is and will be the future of the Mac for years to come; if you want to
continue using the latest tech and applications, you will have to buy a
new computer.

I do have a new G4 but the old software works so great--yes, even OS 9.2.1.
I did spend the money to upgrade to X. Then I realized that all my
software, including Photoshop, Painter, Illustrator, Director, Pagemaker,
Quark, etc. etc. would require so much money to upgrade that I could not
afford to stay with OS 10. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that the reasoning
behind the PCI and Quad lists?

I recently signed the petition to ask Apple to allow us to download OS 8.xx.
I saw nothing wrong with continuing that OS thread. Of course, it would
have required a major revision in order to play all the dumb blood games
that are available for Windows.

I'm not a fanatic about this subject, but this is a discussion list, is it
not? It seems to me that you have to try to stay politically correct or
risk expulsion. Too bad.

I do have a pci-power mac question: I have a 7500/200 and an 8500/120. Is
there a way to switch things around to come up with an 8500/200 and a
7500/120?
