50/day is an awful lot. What have you done to get yourself on so many lists?
Have you been sending bogus bounce messages? Have you been clicking
on "Remove Me" links? Have you been loading graphics from within
your email application? ...those are the three main ways you announce
your positive existance to spammers. It promotes you to the .01 list
almost immediately!

I do none of those things and I get at least that much SPAM. The only thing I can figure is that I like to use news groups (remember the way to interact before there was a WWW) and I've had the same email address for many years.

:) I live on USENET, both public and private (low propagation) newsgroups.

USENET is a major cull source. The addresses I use there start getting spam within 48 hours, and it increases and increases.

You should use a bogus address there. Let people post their replies to the froup only. If they need to contact you directly, let them post their addr.

I shouldn't have to spoof my address in friendly forums; it's considered rude.

Yea, it was a few years ago. But netiquette changes... :\
