I'm using 9.1 with the Tempo 133 and maxtor in my 8600 so I know they can
work together. I have an external SCSI CDRW attached as well.

The Tempo card is seen by ASP as a SCSI card. SCSI Probe and ASP call it
SCSI bus 2. I wonder if your Adaptec and the Tempo Trio are claiming the
same bus.
