AIM is AOL INstant Messenger, the Chat component.
Is the "Composer" the stuff that handles chat?
Composer is the HTML editor.
In your experience are *any* of the non-browser components
other than AIM removable?
No. But, then, if you don't use them they're not doing anything but taking up some disk space.
