I'm fairly new to Macs, and have enjoyed playing around with the 7200 I
bought a few weeks ago. However its lack of performance is really starting
to annoy me. I've looked at its' upgrade path which sounds ok, but I want
your advice on whether it is really worth it. For AU$637 (around $420 US?) I
worked out I could install:

Sonnet G3 400
extra 256mb RAM (total then being 288mb)
ATI Radeon 7000 PCI video card
USB+Firewire card
Quantum 18.3GB 7200rpm SCSI HD

Would this make my mac a decent everyday computer for internet, MS Office
and listening to MP3s/watching downloaded DIVX movies? Or would it be a
better bet to find a b/w G3 tower and spend a little money on that?

Also, would the above config run OS X ok?
