I have a 7500 to which I added a secondary 2 GB SCSI hard drive. I added the second hard drive to the bay directly below the main hard drive. I connected the power cable and the SCSI ribbon cable (on the second "SCSI port" on the ribbon) and then started the machine up. Trouble is, the second hard drive doesn't mount. When I use Disk First Aid, it doesn't find the second hard drive. Is there something I'm missing? My roommate, who is a PC person, suggested that the second hard drive needs a jumper setting to designate it as a slave to the existing master. That's all new to me. Is this accurate? I know the hard drive works. I scavenged it from an older Mac after having tested it.

Can anyone give me advice on this?

Thanks,
Michael
