i just received some hard drives, & they were all 50-pin but one, which is

possible to use it in my 7500. can i get a converter from the drive to the
50-pin ribbon? i'm confused by the ones on ebay--they look like they will
connect the drive to a 50-pin male (like on the motherboard) but not to the
female on the ribbon.

the drive is a seagate barracuda 9.1 gb, s/n ST19171WC.

Those drives work great! I've got a dozen of 'em sittin here; never had one fail. :)

To use them individually, you need a SCA Adapter, 80-pin to 50-pin. It's a small circuit card that has the 80-pin SCA socket on one side and a standard 50-pin male on the other - into which you can plug your normal SCSI ribbon cable. They also have the necessary pins on them for selecting the SCSI ID.

A search on eBay for "sca adapter 80 50" will usually find a nice selection.

If you need xtra jumpers for the ID pins, lemme know.
