I took out my old manual from YDL 1.2.  Hopefully the instructions still
apply to your situation.  First of all, I suggest you re-install the
original HD along with the 5GB drive.  Install the Mac OS on the original HD
and YDL on the 5GB.

You will need to use BootX since the 5400 is an Old World Mac therefore a
Mac OS is needed pre-installed on your machine (since BootX is a control
panel that resides in the Mac OS) in order to get YDL to boot.
