Cursor performance? You mean the cursor is slow to move in OE? But it moves fine in other apps no matter what you are doing? Like actual smooth movement across the screen is not happening? Not quite sure what you are doing in OE but, perhaps obviously, the processor is preoccupied with operations on OE that you have instructed and it is heavy going and further things like cursor movements are delayed. Anyway, some suggestions that may help you and will certainly not hurt to try:
(1) Compact your OE database. Before starting OE next time, hold down the Option key and double click the OE app icon or its alias. Say yes to everything and wait till the job is done. Throw out the Old Messages and Database as instructed. It makes it more efficient - removes all the gaps left in the file that the processor and memory has otherwise to negotiate. (2) Give OE heaps more memory. Get info on the app icon and change to at least 20 MB. More if you can spare it. (3) Just for now, get rid of the 12MB Ram disk (I have tried these things with more like 128MB Ram Disk and it is not the slightest bit obvious that at least for IE or OE they help at all). How much memory have you got? You have an 800 processor! Surely at least 500 RAM (if not, don't delay, put even more). Give IE lots too. (4) Get advice from others about these Ln caches of yours. There was a terrific post on this subject a few months back... My more humble upgrade processors other prior caches removed. I know little of the 9600 or your upgrade.
