All I can say is: 7.5.5 OS is supposed to be the best running system! I know, because last year I tried to install 8.0 OS and it nearly crashed my whole world. I have an older Mac PowerPC 5300 running OS 7.5.3. Don't expect too much SPEED here! I just use it for a backup and a collection! However, OS 7.5.3 or 7.5.5 is a GOOD operating system. I know that people are probably laughing at me, because I have a Mac Performa 5300. But that is O.K. It has helped me out! According to www.lowendmac.com the 7.5.5 OS system is the best and safest.
