Alas, the problem remains unsolved. With iCab and yIM both radically
upped in memory, I still get the same mem error.
Sometimes computers do the darndest things.
Rebuild the Desktop.

and try to do it with tech tool - that resolved problems I had when 
merely using the old mac-rebuild at-startup way...
