I do know that the glue on 3M double sided tape is not strong enough. I am considering either cyanoacrylate ( CA or superglue ) or an epoxy.
30 minute epoxy has a stronger bond. But epoxy is messy to use.
Superglue works but really doesn't that well to the metal - I stuck mine back on my 9600 but they all came off again.
The new adhesives used to hang objects on the wall are a possibility but they are
expensive.
hmmm...
Whatever you use roughen the metal in the foot area before gluing.
Might help but if it's not wanting to stick to metal, it's not going to stick whatever you do...
Black plastic ? All the ones I have seen are beige. Well anyway I would go to a hobby shop and get a liquid plastic cement which has a lot of MEK in it. This melts the plastic together somewhat.Assuming it is similar to styrene. There is also a glue sold in electronics parts stores meant to repair radio cases . I cannot remember the name. I would also add plastic to reinforce the joint. And the fumes from these glues are very strong. It may be easier to look on the swap list for a leg.
It's made of ABS, which is stupid because it's prone to snapping like that. However Apple make all their case plastics out of moulded ABS so it made economic sense I suppose!
I would look into finding a sturdy piece of mild steel plate and forming a new one up out of that, all you need is a good metal hacksaw and a set of files, oh and a vice.
