Thanks, Adrian, David, Fluxstringer, James, and Mark for you 'little feat'
posts. Contact cement like used for formica for the little rubber feats it
is; either a sturdy metal or wood home-made falling-in arm or none at all
for the 7200/7300s; two part epoxy glue for plastic parts in future.

As the Australians say when they're trying to sound like New Zealanders,
Kewl!!

The yellow stand by just keeps on flickering after boot. However, I have two
other (not Apple) monitors that do change to green on boot but have no
image. What for those, then?

The report on the multiscan is that the image just faded away over a second
or two - no change in shape - then the green led was replaced by the
blinking yellow standby. I wasn't there myself. It would be a major victory
to get this heavy mother working again.

Greg, many thanks. A search for CMD 640B (a chip on the card) reveals it to
be unreliable. I will save time by ditching it.

Thanks, David.

This a great relief to know: I was concerned that because I didn't go
anywhere, I wasn't here any more, but was over there somewhere... but then
am I really here at all anyway?
