When exercised, they appear with an icon created by AppleWorks 6. I expect this is because the newer version replaced the icon file in the desktop directory. Now I don't have a good guess as to why your ClarisWorks is not working.
It seems that the two versions on my machine "see" their individual translator files as the list is much more extensive in ClarisWorks than in AppleWorks. It sure seems like there is some conflict in your system, but I am at a loss to explain where or how.> Hmmm.
