I live in a teeny town and my ISP can't even pump 33.6 to my place from theirs some 8 miles away. The losses drop it to 28.8 on a GOOD day.
Is the noise problem at your home or in the phone line between you and the CO? Have you tried calling a different ISP?
Their fat pipe is a $500 satellite setup. My pocket-pipe's not that fat.
yuk. Satellite services can be had for a lot less than that. I'm not particularly fond of them tho - too many caps.
