We have had a lot of luck with Netgear routers. We have installed over 300 in the past 18 montha without a single failure. We don't use the low-end routers but usually buy the FVS318 small business versions. We stay away from Linksys due to Cisco's failure to correct the uPnP flaw. We have also had a few failures with D-Link and Linksys.

Personally I use the FVS318 at home with my hybrid network of NeXTs, Silicon Graphics, Suns, Macs and Mac Clones, WinTel and BeBoxen. I even have a Tandy1000 DOS machine on the network.

I could use some advice concerning which router to buy. I'd like to find a
new router that will be very simple to connect and use. Need to connect my
PowerMac 7300 and iBook G4, and if possible, our PowerBook 540c, and maybe
even one of our SE/30s(?).

Any advice on what would be a good inexpensive router to purchase?

Thanks.
