I've successfully swapped out daughtercards in my 9600, going from 300MHz to 350MHz, angst free. My direct experience leads me to suspect that the above might well be an "old wives tale." Of course, this was one experience only, and the odds are 50/50 that a given experience will be a postive one. The other reason I ask this is because at some point I want to sell the 300MHz daughtercard and am sure that the new owner would appreciate not having any "excitement" with the transaction.
